Our pink fairy

A time to Celebrate

We have just returned from a flying visit to Brisbane. It was a mad fun time. We did two wonderful things. Firstly we said goodbye to our old car the faithful reliable old silver Fairmont Ghia. She had been slowly collapsing, broken lock, sticky brakes, getting thirsty that kind of thing. She decided to give up the ghost on her last voyage south. Funny thing as we were waiting to trade her in at the car yard, we could see radiator fluid running out from below the car. Thankfully by the time the guy came to appraise her, the water had dried up. Erin said she must have been crying. Perhaps she was.. Anyway out with the old and in with the new..

Crikey mate. She's green and fast. The new baby is acid green. Aparently my petrol head hubby says it is a V8 GTP. Ford of course. Fastest one you can legally buy. We call her the green pea... I finally got the courage to drive her just after Gympie. MAn the seats are awesome. They wrap around your legs for lateral support. You just sink in and drive. Overtaking is really really fast.

Well hel... everything is fast on this thing. 6 CD stacker in the console, drinks holder ( very important). The kids love the sub woofer ( is that how you spell it?) that gives them a back massage as we ride along. Very nice... So now the kids are wrapped and love the fact that my car is Faster than Gregs.... LOL yeah right...

Also went to Imogen's 6th birthday party. She has just had her central line out after battling leukemia for a whole year for the second time. She looks well and filled with energy. She is already reading but has missed prep. She starts year 1 in 2009 and we couldn't be more proud of her.

It was a glorius wonderful party, filled with lots of pink things, cakes, rainbow jellies, great wine and cheese for the big party people and plenty of old fashioned games for the kids. Immy wanted fish and chips, so they made all these cute packets up with brown paper bags. It was a joyful celebration and a wonderful treat to be there, a part of my awesome family. Mum and Dad looked after us, Monice was there, as were my brother Damian and sister Jen. Too too much to celebrate and time to say thanks for a great weekend.

A time for sunsets and new adventures

Today is a hot and blustery day. It a day of no commitments. A day to contemplate the good parts of my life. A day to fold washing, clean rooms and blob with the kids. A rare day indeed.

The photo is one I took at Fraser Is off the coast a month back. It is world heritage listed and worth a trip if you are in the land of Oz. We only live half an hour away. lucky hey...

In two days time, one of my truly wonderful friends Maria is leaving for a year is Europe. To her and her wonderful husband, I say salute',you read all about their journey here.

Stuffed up already and a welcome of sorts to my blog

Gosh you would have thought that the how the hel are you ?and welcome to my blog post would have been before the fabulous dancing mat video. I guess doing things out of order is one of my special talents. The pic above is Greg ( insert long suffering, cave dwelling, non-public dancing hubby here) and I at our school's ( yes he is the boss and I work there too!) 125th anniversary celebrations. SO glad it's over. Long story might chat about it later... or not!

I love to dance. Sadly I dont do it nearly often enough. Not since I laughed at my hubby's dancing style 17 years ago, has he offered to be my partner on the dance floor. As both my girls dance, let me just say that that keeps me busy enough. That being said, I hope to do some serious moving and groovin' at my up and coming 50th girl's weekend. Oh dear, picture 10 or more dancing dames over 40/50/70 somethings on the dance floor. Stay tuned. Could be a bit scary... I think that we might have to take some pics of my mum to post here.
Ok I have rabbited enough. Have a great day and dance like you know you want too!
